Presto’s Roof Installation Process
We install all types of roofs of various materials, including rubber and copper, as well as traditional shingles, architectural shingles, and cedar shakes. In older Victorian-style homes, we can install replica roof shingles, made from asphalt or composite, so they can last longer, while keeping your home’s historic character.
Our roof installation process includes the following:
- Strip existing roof shingles to start fresh
- Inspect the overall condition of the roof deck, including flashing around chimneys, skylights, and transition walls
- Replace any rotted or worn wood.
Note: Homes built before 1975 will have Ledger planks, which can shrink and expand, causing space between the boards and shingles to blow off. We will install a ½ inch plywood over the existing planks to help shingles take hold in older homes.
